Had to give this a go as found on atlas Obscura, easy to find in a funky alleyway with a great vibe I love all of Berlin so so much, but this is the thing I remember most and tell people about all It;s something different and crazy experience. Briefly, enjoy your trip! Really crazy place for 20 minutes to visit.
You will get the idea only when you enter the basment. Truly reccommended! Maybe some of those machines are a bit too much used, but the whole concept is enjoyable for sure. Finding this place may be confusing, but all the alley is a bit crazy and you will reach the place for sure in the end. If you want to try acid without trying it, go here. Best 8 euros I've ever spent. We had a truly awful experience with a very nasty skinhead complete with Dr Martens who ran the tour.
He shouted and humiliated me in front of other people. The tour was set in poor lighting and was with surrounded by heavy smoke, The show is basically metal creations which clatter to life narrated by an angry skinhead. I would not recommend this tour to anyone who is not German. You enter down a narrow stair case and enter into a basement that looks and feels like you shouldn't be in it, at which point there are a lot of upcycled machines that move and dance and talk and do very bizarre things its all very steam punk-esque.
I've never seen anything like this before, its a very fun experience presented by a very friendly, funny guy that almost seems animated, the fee is okay considering the work you consider goes into it but it is very weird! The bar you go into before while you wait for people to arrive is amazing! It reminds me of something that might be in true blood, the drinks are strong and good value and the atmosphere is amazing, not a stereotypical pub, club or bar but we loved it, great place to sit and chill with cool decor, although very dark but that works fantastically.
I had the best time in Monsterkabinett, because apart of the great and funny Monsters and robots and creatures, spiders and original music, these were very nice artists who have time to drink a beer with you and talk to you about their Berlin memories. Hell they have great stories too! If you didn't enjoy the show and the bar Eschschloraque before and after, maybe they just didn't like you Profile JOIN.
