Coming from Finland myself, it had little to do with It was unisex so before entering we asked if we can wear towels in the sauna instead of being naked.
It was ok. However, in the sauna a random guy suddenly started complaining angrily how we should be naked and sit on the towel, not wear it. I asked why but he couldnt give any reason, just kept repeating it staring at us angrily. We went back to the reception to ask if we can really wear our towel. Again it was ok. Back to sauna and the same guy immediately left in a demonstrative manner. It was also weird that there were sand clocks in the sauna as if you cant read your own body but have to take time?
The whole towel waiving ritual was a bit weird too. But to each their own I guess. See more.
